Privacy Policies

Basic concept

Based on the KFAW Personal Information Protection Basic Policy and within the scope necessary to smoothly operate services provided in the KFAW Website and Move Website (hereinafter, “Forum Websites”), KFAW collects information of persons who use Forum Websites (hereinafter, “Users”).

KFAW handles collected information within the scope necessary to achieve the utilization purposes by lawful and fair means. KFAW deems that persons who use Forum Websites are Users who agree to the content of this Privacy Policy.


Scope and utilization purposes of information to be collected

(1) When using Forum Websites, Users do not need to provide any personal information, such as name or address, which can identify them. However, to use any of the following services provided on Forum Websites, Users may be asked to register their personal information. When KFAW asks Users to provide their personal information, KFAW discloses utilization purposes clearly in advance in respective inquiries or application forms, etc. Further, KFAW uses personal information provided within the scope necessary to achieve the utilization purposes and does not use it for any purpose other than utilization purposes without obtaining consent of Users.

  1. Services that require provision of personal information
    • Application for events of various kinds including seminars
    • Application for associate members and supporters
    • Inquiry of various kinds
    • Use of e-mail magazines
    • On-line sales of books
  2. Example of personal information to be provided
    • Name, company name, name of title or job, association name
    • Postal code, address, telephone number, fax number, e-mail address
    • Other information necessary to provide services of various kinds
  3. Purposes for acquisition and utilization of personal information
    • Provision, information or delivery of the followings by various media such as postal mail, e-mail or telephone
     Information on holding of, request of attendance to or notice of information on participation in various events such as seminars
     Publications or information issued by KFAW and Move
    • Billing of cost or membership fees
    • Answers to inquiries or consultations

(2) If Users request the disclosure, correction, cessation of utilization or deletion of content of registered personal information, KFAW discloses, corrects, ceases utilization or deletes personal information of the principal in accordance with procedures set forth in the KAFW Regulations for Protection of Personal Information.


(3) KFAW manages collected personal information strictly based on the KAFW Regulations for Protection of Personal Information and disposes of or deletes collected personal information which becomes no longer necessary for retention reliably and promptly.


Records in web server

(1) Forum Websites take necessary information security measures including countermeasures for unauthorized access or anti-computer viruses.

(2) Forum Websites automatically collect Internet domain names, IP addresses, browsers, date and time of accesses and record them as an access log for purposes of preventing unauthorized access and to enable prompt cause-identification and recovery when any trouble occurs on the web server. The access log is utilized for the maintenance and control of the website, for prompt cause identification and recovery when any trouble occurs and for statistical analysis of use situation and is not used for any other purposes. However, if requested by the police authorities, courts and the like, pursuant to the provisions of law, KFAW may provide them with the access log.

(3) Forum Websites introduce an access analysis tool plug-in (Move Website) and Google Analytics (KFAW Website) to analyze the use situation of websites and to facilitate the improvement of convenience for Users. Although these tools utilize the cookie function which is a technology to identify Users’ computer, KFAW does not use cookies to identify individuals.


Provision of personal information to third parties

Except for cases to which any of the following items are applicable, KFAW does not provide personal information provided by Users to third parties:

• Consent of the User herself/himself for such provision is obtained.
• Such provision is provided for in laws and regulations.


Outward commissioning of personal information

If KFAW commissions the processing of personal information provided by Users to outside trustees, KFAW takes necessary measures with regard to such trustees by, for example, incorporating proper control responsibility of personal information in the contract with such trustees.


Scope application

This Privacy Policy applies only to Forum Websites. KFAW is not responsible for contents of external websites linked to Forum Websites. Further, KFAW is not responsible for loss, destruction, alteration, divulging and the like of personal information caused by reasons not attributable to KFAW’s fault.


Utilization of outside services

Some pages of Forum Websites establish a link, button and the like to social networking services (SNS). Users are requested to check websites, etc. of respective services for the privacy policy of SNS, etc.




How to Disable Cookies

If Users do not agree to the use of cookies, they are requested to check the configuration of their browser and to take measures to disable cookies. In this case, Users doing so are requested to acknowledge this in advance since some services may be unusable for them.
