Presenters wanted for NGO Parallel Event “Climate change and gender” held during the 65th Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW65)

********** [Finished] **********

The annual session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is held every March in New York. NGO CSW/NY organizes Parallel Events in which civil society organizations and NGOs may participate during the CSW session. Kitakyushu Forum on Asian Women (KFAW) applied to host a Parallel Event during the 65th Session of the CSW (CSW65) which is scheduled to take place on March 15-26, 2021. In light of this, we are seeking youth presenters who are willing to take part in our Parellel Event.

Successful candidates will be asked to make a presentation on one of the following topics during the Parallel Event:

  1. Gender perspectives and necessary actions to be taken to respond to climate change;
  2. Adopting gender perspectives during natural disasters as serious impact of climate change and in shelter management;
  3. Activities that you engage in to address climate change and gender

The language of presentation is English.

As a special guest participant, Disha Arora, a development communications specialist from India who serves as the 30th KFAW Foreign Correspondent, will participate in the discussion. This is a valuable opportunity to develop a better understanding of the important link between climate action and gender, as well as to discuss common interests with peers of your generation. We look forward to applications from many of you.
